The mosque in the township of Polis tis Chrysochous used to be an old Byzantine church, as testified by its architecture and its magnificent frescoes. It was dedicated to Agios Andronikos.
Restoration work cometed in the early 1990s revealed rich wall-paintings dating to the 16th century.
Some parts are very well preserved; unfortunately in the lower parts of the walls no paintings have been saved.
