Open since July 1998, Anassa has fast secured its reputation as the ‘grand dame’ of Cyprus and continues to hold its position as the leading property on the island attracting a loyal and discerning client base from across the globe.
Just the right blend of five-star luxury, classical architecture and seclusion, the enchanting Anassa is set within some of the most pristine countryside in the Mediterranean. Situated directly on the shore of Asprokremnos Beach – undoubtedly Cyprus’ most beautiful beach – Anassa overlooks the magnificent Chrysochou Bay with the mountainous Akamas Peninsula as a majestic backdrop. A haven for flora and fauna and a paradise for nature lovers, Akamas is relatively undeveloped and offers mile upon mile of dramatic coastline and secluded beach coves.
Anassa means ‘Queen’ in ancient Greek, a fitting name for this truly majestic property that exudes the sleepy charm of an ancient Byzantine village and features white-washed walls, clay roof tiles, local stone and wooden doors and shutters. A central square and a traditional church, Ayia Athanasia, with a bell-tower complete the feel of an authentic Cypriot village. The hotel comprises low-rise buildings and landscaped gardens, spread over an area of 85,000 square metres, with none of the buildings higher than three storeys and the tallest point on the site being the bell-tower of the church. The finest quality materials were used throughout and, where possible, local materials were used in keeping with their traditional style.
Anassa’s interior design reflects Cyprus’ rich cultural heritage and features Roman mosaics, Greek motifs and Venetian frescoes. The resort comprises 175 rooms, studio rooms and suites, all of which offer extraordinarily spacious, luxurious accommodation with balconies with panoramic sea views, some with private plunge pools and whirlpools on sea-facing terraces.
Anassa boasts four outstanding restaurants and the refurbished Thalassa Spa, which specialises in the very latest health and beauty treatments, uses products by the forward-thinking Organic Pharmacy whose ingredients are 100% chemical free and natural marine based skincare therapies from the Osea product line.
