The Nightlife in Mykonos is hardly to be rivaled by any other spot in Greece. There are a good many bars in the town and on the beaches, and as the daytime parties draw to a close and the sun begins to set, the night transforms Mykonos into a whole other creature with its own distinctions and attractions.
The Beach Scene
If you have been on the beach all day long and want to stay on the beach all night long, the beaches to be at are Psarou, Paradise and Super Paradise. These are the beaches most famous for their non-stop party atmosphere and fun times. The drinks at the beaches are bound to be pricey, but if a night of indulgence is what you’re after, there is almost no better way to spend your night. All of the restaurants at the beaches begin to pump their music as soon as the sun begins its way down to the ocean depths and locals and tourists alike flock to the counters of the bars. Paradise Club, located on Paradise Beach, runs the best nighttime party, with a huge pool in the center and nightly fireworks that lead the party off until it ends at around midnight.
The Inland Scene
If you are inland, take a night out from your Mykonos luxury hotel room or other accommodation by checking out the spectacular sunset at Caprice. There, you can sit in one of the chairs lined up for exactly that reason and look out over the sea, windmill and other islands with locals and tourists alike. After seeing the sunset, wander around Mykonos town for the bar or club that suits your fancy. Most drinks are again going to be fairly expensive, so one cheaper option is to go into a store and purchase a bottle of wine to share with your companions for less than one drink. Once that’s finished, you can go out and spend less money than otherwise and spend a fun night out on the town.
The Island’s Best Bars
The best bars on the island are these: Aroma for its people-watching, Astra for its elegant lounge turned club, El Pecado for its great Latin cuisine, Uno for its great local presence and New Faces (formerly known as Down Under) for its late-night happy hour (understandable very popular with Europeans and Americans). Other notable options are Pierro’s and Ramrod, popular with gay patrons, as are Yacht Club and Porta. Thalami has a fantastic Greek vibe, and the intense Guzel will have you reeling with the hippest Athenians and crazy party atmosphere. The under-thirty crowd has a particular soft spot with the Space Club over at Lekka Square, for those partiers who can last until 4 a.m.
