Crafted from native Cypriot and international grape varieties, Zambartas wines have a style all of their own. Zambartas winery brings scientific discipline to the winemaking process and together with a creative flare ensures the finest quality of each drop, year after year. Since the establishment of the winery in 2006, Zambartas Wineries have been awarded over 30 medals; gold, silver and bronze, in international and local wine competitions including Decanter World Wine Awards.
Zambartas Wineries was founded by Akis Zambartas, after a long career in the wine industry, being the Managing Director of one of the largest wineries in Cyprus for 8 years after being the chief winemaker for 25 years. In 2006 he realized his dream and founded his own winery in the beautiful Southern hills of the Troodos Mountains.
His son Marcos, who is now running the business, completed his Bachelor and Masters degree in Chemistry at Imperial University London and gradually developed a love for wine. In 2007 he left behind the corporate world and went to Adelaide University in Australia to study for a Masters degree in Winemaking. He has worked in vineyards and wineries in Provence France, Mangawhai New Zealand and in Kays Brother winery in McLaren Vale, Australia, before and during his studies. After he completed his winemaking degree in 2008, he immediately joined his father in the winery. Marcos is currently the chief winemaker of Zambartas Wineries.
