Used frequently by EOKA fighter Grigoris Afxentiou the hideout is located next to the Panagia Chrisopantanassa church, in the heart of the village, at the basement of the residence of Andreas and Maritsa Karaoli.
It was built on instructions from Afxentiou himself in the summer of 1956.
In fact it was a complex of two hideouts, one in the bakery and the other under a stone staircase, next to the bakery. Beening charge of EOKA operation in Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaka Afxentiou visited Palaichori quite frequently and used the hideouts as headquartes.
