Limassol welcomes travel professionals for Accessible Tourism promotion
The Limassol Tourism Board and Accessible Cyprus Travel ( ACT ) by TH Platinum Ltd welcome a group of fifteen travel professionals from the UK and the Middle East, that specialise in accessible holidays.
The Limassol Tourism Board, as the official tourism authority of the Limassol region, Accessible Cyprus Travel, by the tour operator TH Platinum Ltd, along with other official bodies, are aiming to create awareness of Cyprus’ existing infrastructure and prospects for further development in the sector of accessible tourism.
In the framework of this effort, the Limassol Tourism Board, and Accessible Cyprus Travel, with the kind support of the Limassol Marina and Trakasol Cultural Center, are organising a press conference on Wednesday 16th of March 2016, at 18:00 at Trakasol. During the press conference, the available infrastructure and services for a barrier free tourist experience for people with reduced mobility or other disabilities will be presented as well as the potential of Cyprus as a destination to improve in this respect.
The Limassol Tourism Board, aiming to develop Limassol as a destination for ALL, is organising in April a seminar titled ‘Accessible Limassol’. The Seminar invites front office employees, concierge, public relations officers in hotels and other tourist related businesses in the Limassol region to become more educated on how to better serve people with reduced mobility or other disabilities, provide the right tourist information to enrich their tourist experience and assist them in ensuring a barrier free holiday. Participants will be able to answer to guests’ questions regarding accessibility to different points of reference, distances, routes, mobility modes, services etc. In addition to the seminar, an excursion will be organised to visit routes with easy access for people with disabilities.
