NEW PUBLICATION by the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation “Valentinos Charalambous”
The Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation in 2015 published the book “Valentinos Charalambous” (in Greek).
The book looks at the life and work of Valentinos Charalambous, one of the foremost Cypriot ceramists of international acclaim. Born in Varosi in 1929, to a family of traditional potters, he went on to study in London before being invited to organize the Ceramics Department at Baghdad’s Academy of Fine Arts, where he would work for a total of 30 years. Drawing fascinating information from the artist’s archives and other sources, as well as a wealth of photographic material from his first exhibitions to his most contemporary works, the book is a token of the most comprehensive research carried out in relation to the artist, illuminating unknown aspects of a prolific creative path.
