Only the temple of the monastery remains from the ruins. It is a construction of the 16th century.
An ancient icon of the Theotokos the Merciful exists at the monastery, saved from several destructions throughout the centuries and attracting thousands of pilgrims every year.
Since 1974 the monastery operates as a womans’ monastery. Very recently the monastery has been further enlarged with the addition of a new wing.
